>It’s only been a decade since The Butterfly Effect opened in theaters. But that isn’t stopping Hollywood from considering a reboot of the film.
According to Variety, producers Anthony Rhulen, Chris Bender and JC Spink will produce the new version with a script by original writer/director Eric Bress.
The original film did a solid but not spectacular business world-wide, taking in $95 million in its world-wide theatrical release. It also spawned two direct-to-home-theater sequels.
The original saw Ashton Kutcher portray a character with the ability to travel back in time and change the present by changing what he had done in his past and finding out that changing several childhood traumas created unintended consequences.
There is no word yet on if the reboot will follow the same dark story threads as the original.

The first was awesome!
The second was tried to copy the first, but failed, and was just plain stupid.
The third changed the genre to an action movie, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either.
I expect this fourth film to be total crap.
