Paramount Pictures is considering new installments in the South Park and Friday the 13th franchises.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, we can thank director Christopher Nolan for this. With Paramount and Warner Brothers working together to produce and distribute Interstellar, the door is open for another South Park movie and more Jason doing what he does best.
The deal for Interstellar gives Paramount partial rights to the series for the next five years and given the success of both franchises, the studio is eager to take advantage of them.
South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut hit theaters fifteen years ago and the television show is still going strong. It will hit its seventeenth season this fall.
The Friday the 13th movies have all been solid earners for Paramount. The new entry would be a continuation of the franchise that began in 1980 and not a sequel to the reboot a few years ago.
