<After multiple Eisner awards, 100 issues and several spin-offs, is Fables finally ready for Hollywood?
The popular Vertigo comic series from Bill Willingham has been in development limbo for years now. Not only has Hollywood attempted to give us a cinematic Fables in the past, but a TV version of the series was in development a few years ago.
The series didn’t make it to the pilot stage, which opens the door for a new film adaptation to come to the front burner. Or maybe just out of the freezer and onto a burner.
The Hollywood Reporter indicates that director Nikolaj Arcel and screenwriters Jeremy Slater, David Heyman, and Jeffrey Clifford are attached to bring Fables to the silver screen. No word yet on which (if any) of the story arcs from the comics might be developed for the silver screen.
Given Hollywood’s current fascination with re-inventing fairy tales, a Fables movie seeks like a perfect fit. Do you think it will become a reality this time? And which comic storyline would you like to see adapted?

I’ve never read it, but I’ve heard good things. Unfortunately, they’re likely to do do it what they did to World War Z. Goodbye Fables…
