BBC Confirms Box Set of Regeneration Episodes

BBC Confirms Box Set of Regeneration Episodes

April 26, 2013 By Mike Hickerson 2 Comments

Looking to see all the Doctor’s regenerations in one place?

The BBC has a box-set for you.

The new set will be called Regeneration and it will hit shelves in June.  The set will be part of a coffee table book that includes all the stories featuring the Doctor’s change from actor to the next.

The full list of stories are: The Tenth Planet, The War Games, Planet of the Spiders, Logopolis The Caves of Androzani, Time and the Rani, Doctor Who: The Movie, Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways, and The End of Time.

The set will feature the DVD debut of The Tenth Planet, which includes the newly animated fourth episode.

The four-part serial will be released on DVD later this year as a separate release for fans who already have the other stories in the set.

My only sorrow with this set is it only covers the “death” stories, The Tenth Planet, War Games, Planet Of Spiders, etc.

It should also include the first of each new Doctor (if possible) such as Spearheads From Space, Robot, Castrovalva, etc. That’s part of the gem of regeneration stories, not just saying goodbye to the beloved Doctor, but welcoming a new one!!!

For me, the highlight of the set is the debut of the 10th Planet on DVD. Of course, I’m waiting for the special edition DVD later this year. 🙂

And a box set of all the regenerations would be a huge one.
