The third Doctor’s tenure on Doctor Who is next up on the schedule for the BBC America’s year-long The Doctors Revisited.
To look back at the Jon Pertwee era, BBC America has chosen the first story of the era, “Spearhead from Space.”
This four part serial will air on Sunday, March 31st starting at 8 p.m. EST.
Featuring the Doctor in his first battle with the Autons, the serial will be preceded by a special looking back at the third Doctor’s era.
“Spearhead from Space” is the only classic series story to be filmed completely on film. It’s had two DVD releases and is set to get the Blu-Ray treatment later this summer. No word yet on if BBC America will show the upgraded version of the story.
Of course, some eagle-eyed fans will note that another huge genre series is also debuting that evening, forcing fans to make a choice between the good Doctor and the latest season of Game of Thrones.
