Calvin and Hobbes: The Movie (GrittyReboots Trailer)

Calvin and Hobbes: The Movie (GrittyReboots Trailer)

April 25, 2013 By Summer Brooks 5 Comments

That’s right… the GrittyReboots team has another awesome trailer for us.

What could happen to the world as seen through the eyes and darker imagination of a grown-up Calvin? See for yourself:

I’d watch that movie.

Nice Love the snow goons, but it needed two things. A large box with ‘Transmogrify’ written on the side and of course Space Man Spiff

So an angst ridden Ted? I’ll pass, ‘course was never a Calvin and Hobbes fan so maybe that’s it. Well maybe if they hired Mila Kunis to play the Devil? I’d go see that!

I’ll pass too. My daughter is just getting into the comics and I prefer to leave the fun and imagination intact.

You guys realize that this is a PARODY, right? A fan-inspired “here’s what I’d do if…” sort of wishful thinking out loud project because it’ll otherwise never happen?

Bill Watterson owns the full rights to Calvin & Hobbes, and has said never will there be any licensing, spinoffs, movies, tv shows, nada. Thus the fan-made trailer you see here.

See http://www.salon.com/2013/04/07/searching_for_bill_watterson_partner/ for some other insights.

And I’d gotten rid of my various Calvin & Hobbes collections because I didn’t have them all, to now discover that there’s a compendium of all of the strips — a 14lb monster of a book — I may be tempted to go get that someday.

I know that this is a parody…. And I so wish it wasn’t!!!!! This is AWESOME!!!

I’ve already subscribed to their YouTube channel, and I hope that they can someday film an actual movie!!!
