Remember the classic Atari 2600 game Pitfall?
It’s back on your smart phone!
Activision has reimagined the classic game for smart phones. According to USA Today, the new adventures of Pitfall Harry follow similar mechanics as that of Temple Run.
Pitfall is described as a “running game” similar to Temple Run. Harry automatically runs through environments as players performs touch-screen gestures with their fingers to dodge obstacles. For example, swiping up makes the character jump, while swiping down has him sliding. Taps on the screen execute whip attacks.
The new game offers dynamic camera angles allow players to view the action from all perspectives and an experience system lets players “level up” with each run-through. They can also collect gold to use on power-ups, antidotes for snake venom and other perks.
Players can then share their top scores with friends through Facebook and Twitter.
The new game is currently selling for 99 cents in the Apple store. No word yet on if or when an Android version will be made available.
