Pegg Denies Khan Stories

May 30, 2012 By Michael Hickerson 3 Comments

Looks like we all spoke too soon.  With multiple media outlets confirming that Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Khan in the next Star Trek movie, most of us believed this to be the case.

Now, actor Simon Pegg says we’re all wrong.  In a recent interview with the UK Telegraph, Pegg says that all the reports have it wrong and that Cumberbatch is not playing Khan in the upcoming sequel.

“It’s not Khan. That’s a myth,” Pegg says. “Everyone’s saying it is, but it’s not. I think people just want to have a scoop. It annoys me—it’s beyond the point to just ferret around for spoilers all the time to try to be the first to break them.”

And while Pegg can’t tell us who the Batch is playing yet, he did add that he’s  “not just another disgruntled alien. It’s a really interesting … sort of … thing. Obviously I can’t talk about it.”

So, who do you think the Batch is playing in the next Trek film?
