Director Guillermo Del Toro recently revealed that his pet project, an adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s At The Mountains of Madness is probably dead–and that director Ridley Scott killed it.
Writing on his message boards , Del Toro says that the upcoming Prometheus shares similar themes and even scenes. “Both movies seem to share identical set pieces and the exact same BIG REVELATION (twist) at the end. I won’t spoil it,” Del Toro writes, adding that he’s glad to see a new sci-fi epic from Scott.
In a related story, it has been confirmed by 20th Century Fox that Prometheus has been given an R-rating by the MPAA and will be released to theaters with that rating.
