A new installment in the Skylanders game series is in the works.
Activision announced that a sequel to Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure will be unveiled at next week’s International Toy Fair in New York. The game is called Skylanders Giants.
Skylanders is an action game featuring collectible figurines players can bring to life in the game using a special portal. When players place the figurine on the portal, that character will appear in the game.
Skylanders Giants will introduce eight new regular-size, collectible characters and eight giant Skylanders that are twice the size. The game will also feature characters that light up when they are near or on the portal. Also, all the figurines available in Spyro’s Adventure will be compatible with the sequel.
The game is slated for release this fall. Activision did not disclose details on which platforms will be supported. Spyro’s Adventure is available for PCs, Macs, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo 3DS.
