As expected, Breaking Dawn, Part One took the top spot at the box-office the weekend.
The fourth installment in the Twilight series scared up $139.5 million in ticket sales for its opening weekend. That figure met what many analysts thought the film would do based on the success of previous installments in the series.
In second was the animated Happy Feet Two, with $22 million.
The sword-and-sandals epic Immortals was third with $12.3 million, followed by the Adam Sandler comedy Jack and Jill with $12 million.
The Shrek spinoff comedy Puss in Boots rounded out the top 5 with $10.7 million. It has done $122 million in four weeks.
