Willis To Star in “Neuromancer?”

Willis To Star in “Neuromancer?”

November 10, 2011 By Michael Hickerson 2 Comments

The rumor of the day is that actor Bruce Willis has signed on to star in the big-screen adaptation of Neuromancer.

Based on the novel by William Gibson, Blastr reports that Willis has been connected to the role and may have already accepted the lead.  Peter Hoffman is serving as producer for the project and trying to drum up interest.  Willis’ involvement could do just that.

IndieWire reports that Willis’ agent says he’s only reading the script right now and hasn’t signed on yet.

More details as we hear them.

The lead? What the h-e-c-k does that mean? Isn’t Case supposed to be a youngish guy? I don’t really remember Neuromancer but how many main characters were there that Willis could reasonably play? This reminds me of the rumors that adults would be playing Tetsuo and Kaneda in Akira……

I always pictured him as youngish. Can’t recall if the book specified that closely.

Also Case is very much not an action character…

My guess is they are probably playing loose with the story… like they did with Johnny… which as I recall takes place in the same ‘verse just before Neuromancer.
