MGM is sending out for pizza. Killer Pizza, that is.
The studio has optioned the big-screen rights to the young adult novel that follows a kid who takes a job at a pizza place, only to discover the restaurant is a front for a monster hunting organization.
The novel is by Greg Taylor and the screenplay is by Adam Green. The movie is set to be produced by Rafaella De Laurentiis with 1492 Pictures and CJ Entertainment. Chris Columbus brought the project to MGM in response to the studio’s apparent “appetite for Gremlins or Goonies-type fare.”
According to /Film, Green was set to direct the film, but it’s not known whether or not that’s still the case.

*gasp* Pizza the Hutt!
This is why MGM is a financial mess. They can produce a killer pizza movie, but dragged their feet to make the Hobbit. I smell a steamy pile and it ain’t pizza.
Reading the title I was really hoping for a reboot of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.
