If you were at last weekend’s Creation Con in Rosemont, Illinois, you were part of something special–the final con appearance by actor Leonard Nimoy.
Nimoy said he’s decided to retire from the con scene at the age of 80.
His panel last weekend was his final one. Reports indicate that he spoke about his life and his work with the Star Trek franchise over the years before signing autographs for those gathered.
Nimoy also was given a cake in honor of his final appearance and asked that it be shared by all those gathered with him.
Live long and prosper, Leonard. You will be missed on the convention circuit.
Having been an incredibly good sport for a very long time I can’t say that I blame him since I doubt he’d want to continue should he become infirm. He will be missed.
“Because the needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many.”
He has been and every shall be our friend.
I consider myself lucky in that I did get to attend a Star Trek Convention with Nimoy as the special guest which was part of a publicity tour to hype the release of ST: IV. He was amazing and highly entertaining!!!
