At long last, a bit of positive news about the next Star Trek installment.
After months of delays and concerns about whether or not J.J. Abrams would be back to direct the next installment, Blastr reports that anonymous sources say not only with Abrams be back but that he’s already started pre-production on the next Trek.
The report also indicates that filming could begin as early as this winter. It also says that the finishing touches are being put on a script and once that’s done, things could begin to move a bit more quickly toward seeing Captain Kirk and company back on the big-screen.
Paramount has already pushed back the release from next summer.
UPDATE: EW confirms that Abrams has signed on to direct the film.
