Zod Will Wear Motion Capture Costume In “Man of Steel”

Zod Will Wear Motion Capture Costume In “Man of Steel”

September 8, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

Looks like Superman will share something with Green Lantern when Man of Steel opens in theaters.

Actor Michael Shannon confirmed that the Zach Snyder directed Man of Steel will feature General Zod in a motion capture created costume, similar to what was used to create the Green Lantern suit for the silver screen.

n a recent interview, Shannon opened up about the suit and how nervous he felt wearing it. He said, “It’s funny, because when I met with Zack we were talking about it before it started, and he mentioned that there was going to be a lot of CGI, or whatever. I said, ‘Just don’t make me wear one of those silly suits.'”

Snyder didn’t take his reservations seriously, because Shannon’s  wearing what he calls “one of the most humiliating garments that exists in the known universe. ” He also described it as “very tight” and said, “It has a variety of different colors and shapes on it, and it makes you feel like you’re the court jester.”

The director does understand that Zod and Superman are from the same planet right? It’s not like Zod needs a special suit to fly around… he’s Kryptonian… like Superman… Unless they’re doing the motion capture on Superman too… *HEAD DESK*

Of course Zod was a general back on Krypton. Maybe the suit is some kind of high tech armor with forcefields and whatnot.

Or maybe they want to spend a lot of money to ruin yet another movie.

You know what? I’m just going to see the movie THEN determine if they’ve ruined it or not. More facts, less bitching for no reason.
