Even though Man of Steel doesn’t open until Friday, Warner Brothers is feeling good enough about the movie to put a sequel on the fast track.
Deadline reports that the sequel is part of a three movie deal with writer David Goyer. And that its likely we’ll see the Man of Steel sequel before the proposed Justice League movie.
“Do the DC characters exist in the universe I created? The answer is yes,” Snyder tells Hero Complex. “In my mind, we have this fantastic character of Superman. It’s not madness that there would be others. Now, that being said, does a ‘Justice League’ movie exist now? No. Whether or not I ever get to make that movie, I don’t know,” he continued. “What is real is that there’s a crack — a foot — in the door. That’s promising. The door is definitely open.”
This could be good news for those of us worried that Warner Brothers would rush a sub-par Justice League film to the screen. And it’s interesting to note that we’re going to get more Superman on the silver screen first.
Could this mean we’ll get a rebooted Batman as well to lead up to a Justice League movie? Or what other DC heroes would you like to see get a solo movie as a road map to the Justice League?

Well, Warner Brothers has more faith in this film than me. I want it to be good, but a film that is made from all of the wrong elements probably won’t be very good. Then again, it could end up like the Fried Egg and Chutney sandwich.

Dan, I saw a preview of Man of Steel last night. All of the elements you worried about I also worried about. My review will be up later this week, but it all works. Starting sequel talks now is a good idea and a very good sign.
