Alphas will get a second season. Syfy gave the green light to a sophomore season of the show yesterday.
The network has ordered 13 episodes to premiere some time in 2012. The series has been performing well in its Monday time slot in its rookie season, averaging 3.3 million total viewers when DVR rdata is included.
“Alphas’ smart, innovative approach to a superhero franchise has clearly caught on with our audience,” said Mark Stern, president of original content at Syfy and co-head of original content of Universal Cable Productions. “From the first-rate writing to the outstanding cast lead by David Strathairn, we’re very proud of what was achieved in its first season and look forward to seeing this series fulfill even more of its creative potential in a second season.”

Really? I must admit I only saw the first two or three episodes, but I hardly found it worth watching every week.
God, I wish StarGate came back 🙁

Did they include the DVR data when they canceled Stargate? Anyway I tried watching Alphas and thought it was boring…after Warehouse 13 I turn the channel.

The show started on a slow note and has been getting better. I like that they’re starting the characters from the beginning. Growing the show. It has a very X-men like quality to it. And Gary makes the show.

Good to hear. After the bad news on Eureka it’s good that Syfy is keeping this show, which has been pretty enjoyable so far.

Good, it’s really good show and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit. Everytime I think I’m going to ban SyFy, they end up producing another decent series.

This show doesn’t have a single character I care about. If I were naming all of them, I would use a drawf-like naming system. Bossy, Bitchy, Brooding, Whiny, Rude & obnoxious. I bet you could guess who was named what. Eureka, WH13, & Sanctuary are the only 3 threads that keep me hanging onto the thin rope that is SYFY. When those threads are cut, I’m done.
