Smith Wants 50th Anniversary “Doctor Who” in 3-D

Smith Wants 50th Anniversary “Doctor Who” in 3-D

August 30, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

Actor Matt Smith has said he’s game to stay for the good Doctor’s 50th anniversary. And now he says he’d like to see that celebration filmed in 3-D.

“I’m interested in all the 3-D stuff. If it could be filmed for 3-D TV that would be fun, especially with Doctor Who, but it’s very expensive. I don’t know how they’d do it,” Smith says.

But before you work yourself up into a bit of 3-D rage, remember the higher price tag associated with 3-D.  The BBC has recently trimmed the budget of many shows including Doctor Who, so whether or not the budget would allow for a 3-D episode remains to be seen.

I don’t know. I could possibly see doing something like that for 1 episode for the 50th. Maybe the season Premiere or Finale. Or, maybe if they do manage to get most of the other Dr’s together for an episode. Comeon, who wouldn’t want to see Tom Baker in 3d.
