A new reports indicates the gamers may be pleased with one new feature of Windows 8. According to reports, the new operating system will allow you to play X-Box games.
The forthcoming operating system will be able to run Xbox 360 titles through a subscription fee similar to Xbox Live, says Insideris.
The move will help ensure continued sales for Xbox 360 games beyond the lifespan of the console, suggested the report.
However, cross platform play won’t be possible, as Xbox 360 games on Windows 8 will use Windows Live Marketplace and not Xbox Live.
Windows 8 will have a large focus on gaming, and has been confirmed to feature the Xbox Live service at its core.
Alverant says
That’s really going to open up the market. If they can make it as part of the boot menu so the X360 OS is separate from the Window OS, they’d have a winner.
Sean From Edwards says
Hmm interesting, I wonder how this will effect current and planned cross-platform titles like Mass Effect, will they stop producing PC versions?
Roy Roberts says
I’d be happier about this if I could use my games and account cross-platform on both my windows 8 machine and my x-box.
