With the hype and anticipation surrounding Duke Nukem Forever, it’s easy to see how reaction to the game could be polarizing.
Some will love it, others will hate it. And that’s just the reviewers.
Advance copies of the game have been sent to various gaming sites. And some of them have felt a bit of backlash from Jim Redner and his PR firm, the Redner Group. According to reports, the firm made threats via Twitter that is sites posted negative reviews of the game, they could lose the right to review copies of future games.
“Too many went too far with their reviews…we are reviewing who gets games next time and who doesn’t based on today’s venom,” the company tweeted. “Bad scores are fine. Venom filled reviews…that’s completely different.”
That didn’t sit well with 2K Games, the game’s producer. The company has reportedly cut ties with the Redner group and said in a statement, ” 2K Games does not endorse the comments made by Jim Redner and we can confirm that The Redner Group no longer represents our products. We have always maintained a mutually-respectful working relationship with the press and do not condone his actions in any way.”
