MGM and Screen Gems are moving forward with their reboot of Carrie
Promising a new version that is closer to the original tone and feel of Stephen King’s first novel, the studios have hired writer to Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to pen the script.
That news prompted EW to contact King about the reboot and get his opinion.
“I’ve heard rumblings about a Carrie remake, as I have about The Stand and It. Who knows if it will happen? The real question is why, when the original was so good?” King tells the magazine. “I mean, not Casablanca, or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book. Piper Laurie really got her teeth into the bad-mom thing. Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg.”

He asks why the remake…lol seems Hollywood has run out of ideas…they’re remaking and rebooting everything.

Just out of sheer morbid curiosity, who wouldn’t want to see a Steven King novel movie made by David Cronenberg or David Lynch? Hell, maybe to sweeten the deal you throw Wes Craven into the mix.
