Hemsworth “Excited” About “The Avengers”

May 2, 2011 By Michael Hickerson Leave a Comment

Actor Chris Hemsworth say he’s excited about production starting on The Avengers.

Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel Universe, tells Coming Soon he can’t wait to begin.

“We start shooting in a couple of weeks,” Hemsworth said, “which I knew that we were going to do when I signed on for Thor, but it’s certainly on the forefront now as the next challenge with another big group of actors that I admire hugely. I’m very excited.”

The film features a large cast, including Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

And Hemsworth  says bringing together that many heroes will lead to clash of egos.

“There’s certainly some tension,” Hemsworth admitted to MTV News. “You’ve got big egos on these superheroes.

“None of them want to be told what to do, or form an alliance with these people who they don’t have any understanding about,” Hemsworth continued. “In the comic books, you see that it’s not an easy mix, that’s definitely in [the film].”

While Hemsworth was careful not to go into too much detail regarding the specifics of which superheroes will end up clashing, he did confirm that the film would feature some big fight scenes between some of the main team members.

“Well, you’d want it, wouldn’t you, otherwise why are we all there?” he added. “I think it would be safe to say you can expect something like that.”
