Anyone else like how this is touted as a “Starz Original Program”?
Anyone remember that little network called the BBC? Anyone?

I can’t decide if I am excited about this or not. I LOVE Torchwood. Was one of the few among my friends who thought “Children of Earth” was brilliant.
But done in America? For American television, even if it cable? I’m just not sure, although I will watch and reserve judgement until then.
Lejon from Chandler, SciFi used to do that Stargate SG-1. It’s was a “SciFi Original.” umm.. It was on Showtime first. It was Showtime who gave it a home.

I think most pay-movie channels use the “original program” phrase to differentiate it from the movies that they essentially re-broadcast. In other words, they are producing the program – i.e. it “originates” from their own studio, not someone elses. In the case of SciFi and SG-1, I think they took over production from Showtime as well (not just the broadcast), so they were now the “originators” of the show.
SciFi does the same with their Saturday movies of dubious substance 🙂
They don’t mean it as “first”; the word has several meanings.
