BBC Releases Two Doctor Who Clips

BBC Releases Two Doctor Who Clips

April 14, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 9 Comments

Only nine days until the series six debut of Doctor Who.

To continue whipping our news director into a frenzy, the BBC has released two new clips from the premiere episode, “The Impossible Astronaut.”

They don’t have huge SPOILERS, but if you don’t want to know anything about next Saturday’s premiere, please stop reading now.  (Or if you’re afraid they’ll whip you into a frenzy of anticipation, unable to bear the countdown until they debut, you might want to refrain as well…)

Here they are!

I think this will probably be the best season yet for Doctor Who, and with 48 seasons to pick from, that is saying a lot.

@Sam. While “Doctor Who” has been around for 48 years, this season will be the 31st season.

But that’s still a LOT of seasons to choose from!

I stand corrected and bow to your Who-ness. 😉

Sorry, but every time I look at Smith as the Doctor, I still keep seeing this vaguely annoying 20-something EMO twit! And now I’m sure of it after seeing the obvious lack of chemistry between him and River Song (who’s supposed to be his future wife/lover/ closest Companion, etc.?…. yeah, right)!

Too bad, looks like will just have to pass on another season…

Doctor Who now has all of those wonderful special effects, but I must say that most of my favorites are back in doctors three and four. The show was more like a play back then. Matt Smith, appears born for the role though; so maybe I will have a new favorite doctor soon.

That’s OK, everyone is entitled to be wrong.

@Sam. Hope I didn’t come off as too fan-boy or rude in my correcting. I will say I wish that your original statement of there being close to 48 seasons was accurate.

Or maybe not….collecting the seasons we’ve got on DVD has been pricey enough! LOL

I am looking forward to it. Just finished rewatching it and better the 2nd time round. We are getting pretty slim on decent shows these days!!!

All I have to say is this: As an American, I want to extend my sincerest thanks to the BBC, and the U.K. for Doctor Who. With SGU ending (F you SyFy!!), it seems like there won’t be outer space based Sci-Fi shows in the US for the time being. Thanks for carrying the torch guys!
