With the news that Netflix has signed a deal with CBS/Paramount to begin streaming classic television series starting this month, many of us may be wondering when Star Trek will make its streaming debut.
According to TrekMovie, the franchise will begin streaming in July. That’s when classic Trek, Next Generation, Voyager and Enterprise will begin streaming.
The best of the modern Treks, Deep Space Nine, will start streaming in October. (Once again, it’s the red-headed step-child of the Trek universe).
No word yet on if classic Trek will be the original editions or the remastered versions.

What are you talking about? DS9 isn’t the red-headed stepchild. No, the Abomination known as Enterprise carries that title proudly.
wait, I thought Voyager was the Abomination, and Enterprise was just the eccentric and annoying uncle?
DS9 is the black sheep of the Trek family. Voyager had the awesome BSG/SGU premise then did absolutely nothing with it. Enterprise didn’t happen at all. No really, it didn’t.
The way DS9 is treated is what makes it the red headed stepchild….it’s the best of the modern Treks and it’s the one that is generally the least respected by Paramount. Look at how many damn Voyager cameos we got in TNG films…and nary a DS9 cameo. And Worf doesn’t count…
And hilsto…come on…the final two seasons of Enterprise were good. The last one when they said to hell with the mass audience and really started telling stories for Trek fans was superb.
Now, now children. Each Trek version had its place in the pantheon of Trek Verse. Thank goodness each wasn’t just a copy of the original but, like real life, had its own place and soul.
The last episode pretty much ruined it for me. It was a poo sandwich of endings. It was all a historical fiction holodeck program, really? Instead of doing something for the fans who had stuck with them (they knew they were canceled so they had time to plan) they did something for the fanboys who had been throwing a fit about continuity errors.
I’ve been catching up with the origonal series by Netflx dvd’s and I got to say that this series is by far better than 99% of the crap that passes as scifi in today’s day and age.
I like them all. Voyager maybe took the longest to do something different and new but there are some gems in the last 3 seasons. I remember loving “the Omega Directive” when it came out. I’ll look forward to seeing it again.
With some rare exceptions, Voyager was entirely techno-babble crap. Just non-stop techno-babble for minutes and minutes. DS9 had some techno-babble, but it also had a plot. Hated Enterprise until season 4, which was awesome ( I consider “Terra Prime” the series finale, not the abysmal “These are the Voyages…”).
Love These Debates- I liked them all and when viewing them after time has passed and when rewatching these again my favorites in order are DS9, TOS, ENT. STNG & VOY are tied for last place!!!! STNG all the tuggin on the uniforms drives me crazy now. There are a lot of gems here though especially the middle seasons but not enough to make me rate it higher. Enterprise, like the rest, took a few seasons to get really good but they never had the time. In fact I beleive this series marked the end of succesful syndicated SCI-FI/FANTASY shows such as B5, Andromeda, Earth Final Conflict to name a few. Notice how Legend of the Seeker did not get renewed and when dropped by WGN it had no where to go.
