Scratch Viggo Mortensen off the list of candidates to play General Zod in the upcoming Superman reboot.
Director Zach Snyder has confirmed that Mortensen will not play Zod for the new Superman movie. Snyder confirmed the news with Latino Report.
“Viggo is not going to be in the movie let’s say that right now,” says Snyder.
The story sprang up a few weeks ago as casting news for the new Superman movie began to ramp up. However, it was unlikely that Mortensen could fit the film into his schedule. He’s currently signed on to be in Snow White and the Huntsman which is scheduled from production at the same time as Superman.
Probably for the best. I don’t think Viggo could fill the shoes of Zod.
Get Terrence Stamp to do it again. He’s not that old. And he still looks good.
