Microsoft has sold one million Kinect motion controllers in the ten days since they hit stores.
Kinect hit stores in the U.S. on Nov. 4 and Europe on Nov. 10; it launches in Asia on Thursday and Japan on Saturday. By the holiday shopping season, Kinect will be available in more than 60,000 retailers in 38 countries with up to 17 compatible games out, according to the announcement by Microsoft.
“We are appreciative of the response we have seen from consumers that has culminated in sales of more than 1 million units in the first 10 days on the market for Kinect for Xbox 360,” said Don Mattrick, president of Microsoft’s interactive entertainment business, in the announcement. “This is a great start to the holiday season, and we will continue to work with our retailer partners to keep pace with high demand and deliver against our plan to sell more than 5 million Kinect sensors worldwide by the end of this year.”

I want one of these things so much. I got to try out Dance Central a while ago and it’s a blast! (Plus, it’s exercise you don’t notice you’re doing.) I’m very much crossing my fingers for Christmas.
