Ever since actor Rhys Ifan was cast in the “Spider-Man” reboot, fans have been wondering which villain he’d play. Would he reboot the Green Goblin? How about Venom?
Turns out it’s neither.
The Wrap reports that Ifan will play Dr. Curt Connors in the upcoming film. For those of you who don’t know your Spidey lore, Connors is the scientist who using a serum created from reptile DNA to restore his lost arm become the Lizard.
The Lizard is one of Spidey’s oldest foes (he first appeared in “Amazing Spider-Man #6”) and has long been rumored to make an on-screen appearance since Sam Raimi’s first installment.
No word yet on if the Lizard will be the sole villain for the film or if we’ll see another from Spidey’s rogues gallery.
