The first shuttle program got its name from the original “Star Trek” so it’s only fitting that the final shuttle mission see its crew wake up to the theme from the classic series.
NASA is holding an on-line poll to pick music as a wake-up call for the astronauts on the final shuttle mission. And leading the way is the original (and best) “Star Trek” theme by Alexander Courage.
The music leads the voting with close to400,000 votes so far. The theme from “Star Wars” is also in the mix, but only getting 12,661 at the time.
“The wakeup song has been a part of the space program since the days of the Apollo missions, and now NASA is giving you two chances to be a part of this history! We need your help selecting wakeup songs to be played during the final missions of the Space Shuttle Program!” NASA says on the voting site.

Please Vote for ST. I am afraid that this will be the last time we fly Americans in space on American rockets. We will be hangers on to Russia for years if nto forever. Letting the shuttel go wiht no replacement and with the the 2 parties fightis so bad and hating each other we will not see a rocket any time soon. RIP American Space Program.
