As “Smallville” looks to wind up its decade-long run next year, fans can look forward to seeing some familiar faces return.
That includes Lionel Luthor, played by John Glover. EW’s Michael Ausiello confirms that Glover will reprise his role, though it’s not certain yet how Lionel will return. As you may recall, Lex killed his father in season seven by pushing him out a window.
Some speculate that Lionel could appear to Clark in visions this season. That’s how his adopted father Jonathan will appear this year.
Additionally, Michael Ironside and Peyton List will also reprise their respective roles as Lois Lane’s (Erica Durance) father General Sam Lane and her sister, Lucy Lane according to TV Guide. Both List and Ironside previously appeared in separate episodes during the fourth season of “Smallville.”
Ironside is a veteran of several genre film and TV series including the original “V,” “Top Gun,” “Total Recall,” “Starship Troopers” “Stargate SG-1” and “Terminator Salvation.” Ironside was also the voice of Darkseid — the main villain for the tenth season of “Smallville” — on “Superman: The Animated Series” and “Justice League Unlimited.” List is perhaps best known for her recurring role on “Mad Men” in addition to her appearances in “Monk,” “FlashForward” and “CSI.”
Laura Vandervoort, Michael Shanks and James Marsters are also confirmed to return during the tenth season of “Smallville.”
“Smallville” will premiere on Friday, September 24.
