HBO Wants More “True Blood”

June 23, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 5 Comments

The third season is only two episodes old, but HBO wants more

Powered by strong ratings for the return of “True Blood,” HBO has given the green light for a fourth season of the show.

That’s good news for fans of the vampire series.

Now the bad news. The rush for more episodes doesn’t mean HBO is in a rush to get them onto your set. According to reports, the fourth season won’t air until the summer of 2011.

That’s fine with me because these first few episodes of season 3 needed more fine tuning (please – an adult version of Twilight with werewolves), so however long it takes to get this show back on track is fine with me.

I’ve only seen episode one, but just an FYI, Werewolves are from Book 3, including a central character that comes into Sookie’s life, which from what I’ve seen from the trailers, looks to be in Season 3 as well. . If Alan Ball continues to draw from the books, you’ll see many more mystical beings (remember the Maenad?) than just Vamps and Werewolves. You’ve been warned.

I saw the first few episodes and pretty much bailed after that. However, I hear it gets better, so I’ll catch the entire series run one day when it’s done.

    Sam,
Just so you know: Twilight is a teen emo version of True Blood.
