Weaving Cast as Red Skull

Weaving Cast as Red Skull

May 5, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

After months of rumors, Marvel Studios made it official yesterday.  Hugo Weaving will play the Red Skull in the upcoming “Captain America” movie.

Weaving has been linked to the role for months, but there was nothing confirmed until yesterday.

Weaving will appear in the highly anticipated movie opposite Chris Evans (as Captain America) and Hayley Atwell (as World War II French Resistance fighter Peggy Carter). The movie will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteered to participate in the experimental program that turned him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America.

Weaving has also appeared in “The Matrix” trilogy and “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, as well as providing the voice for Megatron in the “Transformers” movies.

You’re forgetting Weaving’s greatest role as Mitzi in “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”!!
