Peterson Optimistic Mack Will Return To “Smallville”

Peterson Optimistic Mack Will Return To “Smallville”

May 4, 2010 By Michael Hickerson 3 Comments

As “Smallville” prepares to wind down its ninth season, negotiations are underway for actress Alison Mack to return to the show for its upcoming tenth season.

Along with Tom Welling, Mack is the only original cast member who is still a regular on the CW series, and getting her back is a priority for the producers.

According to Entertainment Weekly, contract negotiations with Mack are already well underway. “Smallville” executive producer Brian Peterson has also said that he is “very optimistic” that Mack will remain with the series. “We’ve learned the hard way not to say [it’s official] until everything is signed and dotted,” added Peterson. “So the best we can say is we’re really optimistic. And so is Allison.”

The ninth season finale of “Smallville” will air on May 14. The series will return for its tenth season in the fall.

Damn. I was kind of hoping that she’d move on. Not because I don’t like Chloe, I love Chloe. But because I’d like to see Allison Mack work on something that’s just a whole lot better than Smallville.

Well, with “Lost” ending, there aren’t many choices.

She’s just holding out for more money. You can’t blame her. At this rate she’ll be typecast as “Chloe” forever, so she might as well get paid in the process. Tom Welling will probably never be seen again after Smallville.
