The bubble has burst on a popular syndicated series.
EW’s Michael Ausiello announced yesterday that the syndicated series, “Legend of the Seeker” had been canceled. The series will complete its second season and will then head off into retirement.
The series was dealt a critical blow a few months ago with the Tribune Company dropped the series from its stations. However, there was hope the show would continue in syndication with other stations picking it up.
Now the show has been put out to pasture.
On Twitter, producer Mike Sussman issued the following statement, “The quest is complete. Thank you so much to our amazing cast, crew & all our fans, it’s been an awesome two years. Will miss you all.”

This sucks. Bigtime. I really enjoy Legend Of The Seeker, it’s a great, fun little fantasy series and there isn’t nearly enough of that on TV these days.
KG from DC says
I saw a few episodes and never watched again, but I’ll Netflix it someday and see what the hub bub was about.
Bert Singels says
That really sucks. I quite enjoyed this show.
chavalier says
I was really enjoying this series. I am really, really going to miss Bridget Regan running around in that new outfit, kicking butt and the other stuff that happens too. 🙂
Richard Amirault says
I watched about three episodes .. and gave it up as lame .. not for me.
Chris From Poland says
It was a rather nice guilty pleasure, but I won’t be heartbroken to let it go. As long as FlashForward and Stargate Universe remain on air, it’s fine with me :-).
Necrosomniac says
Enjoyed the show, the cast was great. I will miss it. But maybe the next time someone has a look at turning the sword of truth books into video they will use spartacus as an example and create a show that actually follows the books with the bloody and dark storyline.
Sean From Edwards says
Man that stinks, i really liked that show, and so did my wife, who wants to get a Mord-Sith costume as a result.
Jared says
Oh, not another great show cut down in it’s prime. Getting sick of networks cancelling the good shows. Enterprise, Firefly, Robin Hood and now Legend of the Seeker. I’m just very glad that they let LOST complete it’s journey. Shedding a tear for another great series gone.
Adam says
Thank Christ!
Yeah, I said it. Thank Christ!
I liked the cast but what Ken Biller and the rest of the “writers” did to Terry Goodkind’s work was an ABOMINATION. Now maybe Mr. Goodkind can write more storylines in this particular mythos without worrying about it getting crapped on by a bunch of wannabe fantasy hacks. For those of you who have only seen the show and not read the books….you probably don’t understand why I am saying this.
Go read the books. Trust me. It will open your eyes. The books carry a powerful message that was murdered by the TV show.
Scott says
This is the worst new i have ever heard, WHY :(, there is finally something good on TV and it gets axed, i blame the Tribune Company for dropping it of there stations, if i was them i would bury my head in the sand for a very long time, there are a hell of a lot of people that feel the same way i do VERY MAD/DOWN pick one F**K**G balls.
Casual Observer says
Oh well, the show was starting to get a bit stale. To few characters, ridiculously convoluted plots, over used New Zealand locations…
At least now a bunch of fantasy fans can start watching Merlin, a much better and more traditional fantasy show.
Mitch from Omaha says
Well now how am I going to get my fix of nearly-naked Craig Horner walking around with a “sword” in his hands, all hot and sweaty, every week?
ejdalise says
It’s nearly the end of the school year . . . perhaps some high school senior looking for summer work could pose for you?
David says
Sorry to see it go but was predictable after the WGN news, guess surviving as a syndicated series is tough with so many options on TV. Liked it quite a bit, wish SyFy would pick it up and run it instead of Merlin.

I hate to say it, but when it’s been reported that it’s canceled, and producers are going on Twitter and throwing in the towel, it’s over. Stick a fork in it, it’s done. I wasn’t a ginormous fan of the show, but found it enjoyable enough that I own the seson 1 DVD set. I’m sorry to see it go, and hope that the folks involved find work quickly. 🙂
Ash says
It’s lame that they cancel shows with decent fights, witty dialogue and good effects, yet here in the UK we get stuck with crap like Dr Who and Merlin. Come on!
Gazerbeam says
“…crap like Dr. Who…”?
Arkle says
Gazer: Don’t go down that rabbit hole sir. That way lies madness.
Joe says
Once again another great show gets the axe and we the tv viewers are stuck with crappy reality shows that seem to get all the good ratings because stupid people continue to watch them
Matt says
Um…it is way better than Merlin. I half expect Merlin and Arthur to bump fists after surviving another convoluted storyline full of plot holes and more lazy writing. Not to mention the large inaccuracies in all of the era specific details. Why don’t they just bust out a bottle of Coke and talk to each other on their iPhones? At least that could be seen as intentional and not stupidity. LOTS was just starting to hit its groove but I’m not sure where the writers would go after this season since they weren’t following the books closely. I would have liked to have seen at least another season seeing how Hercules had a much longer run.
james says
