Last week, we brought you news about the fan campaign in Los Angeles to bring back “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.” One possibility for the series’ continuation is a direct-to-DVD movie that would pick up where the series left off at the end of season two.
Today, io9 has an interview with series producer James Middleton who says that discussions have already taken place about a possible direct-to-DVD movie.
“The quick answer is, yes, there have been many discussions,” he tells the web site. “I can’t go into more detail about the subject until I have something truly substantial to report. What the fans should know is that I hear them and I too would love to see T:SCC come back in some form.”
So, there may be a glimmer of hope for the vocal audience who wants more “Sarah Connor.” We’ll keep our ears open for details and bring them to you as we have them.
Rob Cannon says
Best news all day. The season ender left so many things open, it would great to have an opportunity to tie them up.

I may be in the minority of Terminator fans, but I thought the show went off the rails in the second season. After seeing that series finale, I checked out. If it’s coming back, I hope it improves greatly.

Rabid–
You’re not the only one. The final half of season two lost its focus and lost my interest.
But that doesn’t mean the rabid fanbase for this one doesn’t have the right to want more. I hope they get it and that it’s at the same level the first half of season two was.
Robin says
Innnteresting. If they manage to pull it off, I hope it’s at least on the level of the SciFi Channel’s direct-to-DVD offerings (i.e. BSG and SG-1. Personally, I’d like to see them wrap up the future-without-John / Reese brothers / Allison storyline.
K9 says
I liked it all. It was dark and went where you were not looking sometimes. It is great to see people not afraid to kill off main characters. 24 excels at that concept. Sarah Connor had the potential to be something really good if not in fact great given time. I hope it comes back in some decent form.

I agree that the second season didn’t live up to the first. The focus was too much on Riley and Jesse and not enough on finding the Turk or the revelation of why Cameron might be different from other terminators. Weaver and John Henry were underused as new characters even though they were more enjoyable as new characters than either Riley or Jesse.
I admit I cheered when Riley died and was glad to see Jesse gone(I hope Derek did her in). With them out of the way I thought the show picked up a little and would like to see something that would tie up all the loose ends. Since it seems unlikely that it’ll come back to tv(much like Primevil…I’m still reeling over that one), I guess a DVD will have to do. And no I’m not watching Dollhouse…even snagging Summer Glau for a role doesn’t take the sting out of the network choosing Dollhouse over Sarah Connor.

yay! I’m with k9 I liked it all. Right up until the end and I really thought I would hate it before it came out but I was hooked from the first scene. I hope there’s more, I loved Leana Headeys Sara and Summer G. was great too. I so hope this turns out to be true.
Zergonapal says
You do know that Summer won’t return if this goes ahead right? At least not as a main character, she might appear as a guest for a bit of backstory exposition if we are lucky.
Peter Trussell says
I kind of like the second season. John Henry and Catherine Weaver kept us guessing on their intentions. Since John C jumped into a future and the resistance was still there was he really the messiah for humanity?
Jayta says
You have no idea how ecstatic I would be if they finished this series off right. I loved this show. And after getting S2, I’m once again wishing they had been renewed. I want this to happen so bad!
But it must have Cameron and John.
Dave in NY says
Maybe this could go the way of Firefly?
A Direct-DVD Movie and then a major motion picture starring Summer Glau!
