Fright Night Film Festival 2009

August 7, 2009 By Sam Sloan Leave a Comment

The Fright Night Film Festival has announced their official selections for the fifth annual celebration of Horror and Science Fiction films in Louisville, KY. Among them is the newest short film “EZ-CHEWIE” from Nashville based director Cameron McCasland. This will be the big screen premiere of the movie which has been gaining momentum on the web for the past few months. This annual event is set for August 14-16, 2009.

The Star Wars fan film was written and directed by film maker Cameron McCasland who last year was nominated for an Emmy and won a special Humanitarian Award at the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Film Awards for his work on the environmentally minded “Go Green With Dr. Gangrene” series.

“EZ-CHEWIE” is a tongue in cheek comedy about the merchandising of the 1977 SCI-FI film “Star Wars”. A pair of friends (played by newcomers Michael Longstreth, and Hunter Lee Keller) discuss the virtues of EZ-Chewie bubble gum and the evils of halitosis before a big date. Will his night be saved, or will she rather kiss a wookie?

The Fright Night Film Festival is Middle Americas largest Genre based fest hosting some of the best Independent Horror, Science Fiction, and Fantasy films from around the globe. The Festival will also be screening classic genre pictures including “The Exorcist” from 1973 with the films star Linda Blair In attendance.
