“Supernatural” Guest Star Announced

August 6, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

Dear heavens, didn’t the former UPN learn anything for “Veronica Mars?”

Apparently not with the latest bit of news about guest-star casting for the upcoming season of “Supernatural.”

If you don’t want to know the news, turn back now…

According E!, Paris Hilton has signed on for a guest-role in the fifth episode of the upcoming season.

E! On-Line’s Jennifer Godwin says, “A source close to the show tells us: “The fans should trust [show runner] Eric Kripke.”” Godwin goes on to say she’s heard the plotline that will involve Hilton and it appears she won’t be a love interest for Sam or Dean.

No word yet on if the guest-role was the idea of series runner Eric Kripke or the CW itself. Once upon a time, when the CW was UPN, that network forced Hilton on the fledgling series, “Veronica Mars.”

I haven’t watched Supernatural since season 1 — not for lack of interest, but for lack of time. But I was an AVID Veronica Mars fan, and I have to say that Paris Hilton actually did a fine job in the role of Logan’s ex-girlfriend. If the role is right, and if she’d directed well, I’m sure she’ll do fine on Supernatural.

What the hell are they thinking? Unless Paris is showing up as Satan, and is promptly killed, this is their Jump the Shark moment.
