Robert Carlyle Talks “SGU”

Actor Robert Carlyle (28 Weeks Later, Angela’s Ashes) stars as Dr. Nicholas Rush for the new SyFy Channel series “Stargate Universe” beginning October 12, 2009. Here is an exclusive IGN interview with the actor as he talks about the uniqness of this new Stargate show.

A band of soldiers, scientists and civilians are forced through a stargate when their hidden base comes under attack. The desperate survivors emerge aboard an ancient ship, The Destiny, which is locked on an unknown course and unable to return to Earth. Faced with meeting the most basic needs of food, water and air, the group must unlock the secrets of the ship’s stargate to survive. The danger, adventure and hope they find on board Destiny will reveal the heroes and villains among them.

Starring with Carlyle are Ming Na (ER), Lou Diamond Phillips (The Triangle), David Blue (Moonlight), Alaina Kalanj (Smallville), Justin Louis (Saw V, The Andromeda Strain), Elyse Levesque (Journey to the Center of the Earth), Julia Anderson (Stargate Atlantis) and Jamil Walker Smith (Supernatural).

More Stargate Universe Info

Stargate Universe will debut as a two-hour movie event on Syfy and will be distributed by MGM Worldwide Television Distribution. Brad Wright and Robert Cooper, of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, will serve as executive producers and writers on the new series.

    “SGU”?? [b]Stargate Universe[/b] should that be just “SU” ?

    When I saw “SGU” I thought [i]Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe[/i] instead.
