Three years ago, NBC’s “Heroes” got a huge pre-air boost from its panel at San Diego ComicCon. Last year, after a disappointing second season, fans still camped out overnight for seats on the panel and were treated to promises for improvement and the first episode of season three.
Now this year, it appears “Heroes” may not even have an official presence at this year’s ComicCon.
According to the Chicago Tribune’s Maureen Ryan, Universal Media Studios, which makes the show, “Heroes” will “have a presence” at Comic-Con in various ways, but that presence will not involve the typical panel discussion that is a staple of Comic-Con.
If this is the case, it’s news to series creator and producer Tim Kring. Kring responded to Ryan’s request for clarification saying, ““No, those rumors are not true, I plan on being there, along with some cast and writer/producers, etc. And we’re fully expecting to have a great sneak peek at Season 4 to show. The fans that come to Comic-Con are the best, most loyal that we have. We wouldn’t miss it.”

I guess Zachary Quinto had other places to be that day. Good for him.
