“I just got fitted for my fangs,” actress Evan Rachel Wood recently told SciFi Wire as part of the publicity tour for the upcoming second season of “True Blood.” The actress, who joins the hit HBO series for a two-episode arc this season said the fangs “just take over” and the she couldn’t “help but just snarl and be evil.”
Wood will play vampire queen Sophie-Anne this year. The actress went on to say, “I’m playing the vampire queen of Louisiana, 400 years old and gay, so it’s going to be a good one.”
As for the current craze surrounding vampires, Wood says that “it comes around every now and then” and that she’s always been fascinated by the creatures of the night. That doesn’t, however, mean she finds the vampire mythology as portrayed by Stephenie Meyer in the “Twilight” saga appealing.
“This whole Twilight thing? No, she said.
Fans can see Wood in her role on “True Blood” when the series returns this Sunday on HBO.
