Could You Be the Next Duke Nukem?

Could You Be the Next Duke Nukem?

March 31, 2009 By Mike Hickerson Leave a Comment

Back in the 90’s, one of the greatest video games of all time hit the market.  Yes, we’re talking about the mother of all first-person action shooters, “Duke Nukem 3-D.”

The first game revolutionized the first-person shooter and was a bestselling and groundbreaking game.  But it’s been years waiting for a sequel, which has been on-again, but mostly off-again.  Now comes some good news for fans of Duke, who have been waiting all these years for more saving Earth from invading aliens.

Duke is coming back later this year.  No, it’s not the long promised “Duke Forever,” but he will be back in September in the first of three games for Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable.  The first game will come out in September with two more to follow later.

The developer and publisher of the games is in search of an actor to play the role of a live-action Duke Nukem.

The contest will travel to New York, Los Angeles and Dallas seeking out potential Duke Nukems. As the press release describes, “aspiring Dukes will be judged on how well they personify the character’s take-no-prisoners attitude.” The winner will be revealed during the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June. Head to the official Website for more details.
