James Kyson Lee Talks About His Upcoming Projects

James Kyson Lee Talks About His Upcoming Projects

March 21, 2009 By Michael Hickerson Leave a Comment

Actor James Kyson Lee, who plays Ando on “Heroes,” has had a couple of busy months. In addition to his regular role on “Heroes,” Lee is featuring in starring roles in two upcoming genre-related films.

The first is “Termination Shock,” which is set to air later this year as part of SciFi’s Saturday night theater.

“I play Lei Chen, and basically I’m one of the two leads,” Lee teased while speaking with SciFi Wire. “We are sort of space bandits. Think Han Solos. It’s a fun movie, and if you like Star Wars, Fifth Element, Total Recall, it’s got sort of those really fun, classical elements from all these sci-fi classics that you really enjoy.”

Lee recently saw some of the special effects utilized to bring “Terminator Shock” to life and says it looks great. “I’m psyched. I’m hoping that it’ll be one of those things that can have a cultish following, and people can enjoy it over and over on DVD and whatnot,” he said. “I think it can be a really good movie.”

Lee has also completed work on “Necrosis,” which Lee compares to psychological horror entries like “The Grudge” or “The Shining.” And looking to the future, Lee has signed on to star in “The Roel,” an independent sci-fi project.

From what Lee knows so far, the film would involve creatures from other worlds, though in human form. “I know that my character, his name is Ansel,” Lee said. “Think like Dune. So I think he’s sort of a creature from another world, sort of an otherworldly being in human form. I don’t know that much about the exact details of the film. That’s pretty much all I know.”

And Lee has some good news for “Heroes” fans who have missed seeing Ando feature prominently the past few weeks. Lee says Ando plays a prominent role in the final episodes of season three and that his new-found power will be explored in greater detail. And Lee hinted we’ll see the payoff to the scene of Ando blasting his buddy Hiro with red lightning from the season premiere.

“In terms of seeing the ability evolve, you are definitely going to see that. I’ll tell you, he’ll be more than a supercharger. He’ll be a lot more,” he said.

Lee went on to say that he’s eccstatic producer Bryan Fuller is back and that he’d love to see Fuller stay on with “Heroes” until the end of the show. And with the series renewed for a fourth season, Lee promises that fans will be left wanting more when the fourth volume concludes later this year.
