Julia Ling Talks About “Chuck”‘s Anna Wu

Julia Ling Talks About “Chuck”‘s Anna Wu

December 8, 2008 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

Julia Ling’s Anna Wu will make a dramatic return to “Chuck” this week after being conspiciously absent for the last couple of episodes. Our sister site, TV Guide On-Line talked to Ling about her disappearance from the Buy More and what fans can expect in the next two episodes of “Chuck.”

” have a certain number of episodes in which I’m contracted for this year; the rest of the time I’m busy working on other projects,” Ling said. “I’d love to see them sometime explain what “happens” to Anna, or if she just disappears.”

Anna is the love interest for Chuck’s best friend and fellow Buy More employee, Morgan. This week, Anna tries to take her relationship with Morgan to the next level, asking him to move in with her. The move will push Morgan to consider growing up a bit, an effort that could be derailed by the end of tonight’s episode.

“Anna has a strong personality, especially when it comes to Morgan,” she said. “She knows what she wants in the relationship — she’s really in love with this guy, seeing all the good in him — so she probably feels that if she doesn’t take the initiative, it’s never going to happen.

Next week, fans can look forward to seeing more of Anna. The holiday-themed episode will feature a different side to the character when she and several other Buy More employees are held hostage. Fans can look forward to seeing the usually cool and collected Anna “scared” during the episode. Oh and she’ll spend the episode in a “sexy elf costume.”

And with the wacky universe that is “Chuck” and the way that everyone connected to Chuck seems to turn out to be involved in espionage, could Anna turn out to be a spy too?

“I think she’d be a great spy. But she’s also a part of this comedy world that is so fun,” Ling said. “I don’t know what Chuck has in store for her, but every script I read is exciting to me. It’s a discovery every episode.”

Anna defending Buymoria Machine Girl style, now that would make for an awesome episode.
