In the News:

  • Last week the press was all over the supposed breaking news that Bigfoot had finally been found. Surprise! As we expected from the start, it turned out to be a hoax.
  • A 25-year old school teacher from The Netherlands discovered a rare mysterious astronomical object called a ‘cosmic ghost.’
  • Right out of a Terminator movie comes SWORDS, combat-bots that made a surprise turn on their creators.

  • Movie Talk:

  • Will Fox really tick off SF fans by trying to keep “Watchmen” out of theaters?
  • In the not-to-distant future Vin Diesel, as a gun-for-hire who has the task of escorting a young girl safely across the globe in a post-apocalyptic world. Only trouble is, there are those who don’t want to see this young Messiah-type to reach her destination.

    TV Talk:

  • The Discovery Channel’s “Mythbusters” tackle their most controversial mission yet, did the Apollo Moon program actually send astronauts to the Lunar surface?
  • ABC has signed-off on a pilot to be made for a new version of the supernatural tale “The Witches of Eastwick,” based on the John Updike novel and the movie which starred Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer.

  • Interview: Mike and Brian sit down with screenwriter, director Stephen Zimmer and talk about his new made-for-DVD supernatural thriller indie film “Shadows Light.” For the future Stephen will be putting out a DVD with two horror shorts and has also written an epic fantasy novel soon to be published.

    Future Talk:

  • “Voltron: Defender of the Universe” is getting its batteries recharged from Relativity Media and Fox’s New Regency. Julian Marks (“He-Man,” “Green Arrow”) will provide the script.
  • Tom Cruise and director/producer Sam Raimi will be working together to bring the DC Comics/Wildstorm SF graphic novel “Sleeper” to the big screen.
