When one of our beloved older stars die after a long fruitful life, even though we are saddened by their passing, we know that they had a long, productive and exciting life. However, when one who is so creative is cut-off in the prime of life, at the point of when they are really coming into their own, we are left wondering why.
Such is the case with Michael Turner. We are sad to report that Michael has died at age 37 from complications due to ongoing recent health problems with a form of cancer called chondrosarcoma.
Michael was one of those comic artists that didn’t let anything slip but was a master at detailed work.
Michael began his career with Top Cow comics after being discovered by Marc Silverstri. He was the co-creator of “Witchblade.” He later help to form and was president of Aspen Comics. He also did work for Marvel and DC Comics with editions of “Wolverine: Origins,” “Supergirl” and “Batman/Superman.”
Some of his other works include “Fathom,” “Soulfire” a.k.a. “Dragonfly” and “Ekos.”
Michael put up a great fight against the cancer since being diagnosed in 2000.
