All the original cast members from the first successful animated feature film, “Madagascar,” will be returning for its sequel “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.” Also joining the team, which consists of Ben Stiller (Alex the Lion), Davide Schwimmer (Melman the Giraffe), Chris Rock (Marty the Zebra) and Jada Pinkett Smith (Gloria the Hippo) will be two new characters voiced by some very familiar big named entertainers.
Bernie Mac and Alec Baldwin join the film. Mac will voice Zuba the Lion, Alex’s pop and the kingpin of the lion pride and Baldwin tackles Makunga the Lion, Zuba’s main nemesis and contender for the throne.
Also on hand are Sherri Shepherd (“The View”) as Alex’s mom, Sacha Baron Cohen returns as Julien, Cedric the Entertainer is the love-master Maurice, Andy Richter plays Mort and Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister voices Testi.
The new plot has the escapees from the big city zoo still marooned in Madagascar. They eventually make their way to Africa, where they finally encounter species of their own kind for the first time.
