Season 4 of Galactica Ready for Spring Premiere

January 14, 2008 By Mike Hickerson 13 Comments

battlestar3.jpgThe long wait for the fourth season of “Battlestar Galactica” is nearly over.

Mark your calendars for Friday, April 4th. That’s when the hit-series returns to the SCI FI Channel according to reports in the LA Times and across dedicated BSG blogs.

Fans of the series will notice the show is moving back to its original Friday evening timeslot after last year’s experimental run on Sunday evenings.

This run of episodes will be the first ten episodes of the series’ fourth and final season. The series was able to complete 13 episodes before the writers strike forced the series to shut-down. Season 4 may be divided up further to extend it into the 2009 season.

There’s a recap special scheduled for the previous Friday, which is technically in March. Call it the usual SFC tendency to stretch the truth.

John is correct. March is a recap and the actual 4th season begins April 4.

It would be nice if the Season 3 DVD set was released before the new season starts.

If splitting the season into 2009 means they’ll complete the run of the series, I’ll begrudgingly accept.

A finish to the show is better than a season without a proper ending. I hope that that’s how it plays out. I have still not purchased season 3 on DVD due to the way Sci-Fi have treated the fans. Maybe I will once season 4 airs.

    Thank God for TIVO.

I have to wonder how many fans are lost for good. I mean, if you don’t have a season pass on TIVO, are you really going to know it’s coming back? Does anybody watch the Sci-Fi channel anymore?

According to Amazon (and many other sources), the Season 3 DVDs (Region 1) will be released on 25 March of this year.

Yes, I watch The Sci-Fi Channel. In fact, there’s FIVE shows that I watch on the network.
