Slice of SciFi #141: Best of 2007 News Stories

December 29, 2007 By Summer Brooks 9 Comments

sosf_best_of_2007.jpgSummer, Mike, Brian and Tim recorded this episode LIVE in the studio presenting the Best of 2007 news stories that Sam and his entire international news team brought to the show over the past year.

For the last 12 months we have done literally hundreds of stories on the show and thousands for the Slice of SciFi Website. The gang will revisit 12 of those stories that we believe to be some of the best for the whole year as we look back on 2007 and wish it a fond adieu.

Here are the headlines for the 12 stories and events that will be featured on this final show for 2007:

  • SCI-FI to SCI-FACT: If I Could Read Your Mind
  • All Things Being Equal — Includes an end of year update to the story
  • An 18,000 Year Old Hobbit?
  • Star Wars Stamp & Post Office Boxes
  • SCI-FI to SCI-FACT: “Leap Tall Buildings With a Single Bound!”
  • The B.L.O.B. Shoots For Laughs — Includes an end of year update to the story
  • Lost Boys 2″ On DVD – Update since record date: Corey Feldman will be in the film
  • New “Dead Like Me” On DVD — Includes an end of year update to the story
  • SCI-FI to SCI-FACT: Star Trek Universal Translator Is Here
  • “Joust” Heading to the Big Screen
  • “Transformers” — A Weekly Series on TV
  • SCI-FI to SCI-FACT: Big Brother Using Insect-like Spyware

  • All the staff of Slice of SciFi wish you a happy and safe New Year celebration.

We will see you next week for the first show of 2008 with fresh, new content, recorded LIVE from the all-new Draco Vista Studio in Phoenix, Arizona.

    SAVE DRESDEN
    – Send in those drumsticks (not the chicken kind) to SCI FI Channel and save Harry from cancellation hell! Don’t loose heart if your sticks are returned as undeliverable. SCI FI is not accepting them because of the lesson learned from the 20 tons of nuts sent to CBS. However, SCI FI does accept letters so, send in pictures of drumsticks and Harry Dresden with the message “Save The Dresden Files.”

If you are having trouble getting this show…be patient. We are aware of the problem and it is being worked on. Hopefully 2007 will close out with us seeing the end of these past download problems and 2008 will be the start of a problem free year.

Hey what’s wrong w/ Murder She Wrote? Actually it’s my girl friends favorite show (she’s 28, go figure). But! watching over her shoulder I have seen apearances by the Original Apollo from BSG, Odo from DS9, Major Kira from DS9, Captain Jayneway: Voyager. . . etc. We owe Jessica Fletcher a dept for feeding star trek people while they were waiting to go into space.
