“SEVER!”: Indie Premiere Night

April 26, 2007 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

You are invited to the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, the new hotbed of low-budget independent film production, where the creators of a new indie horror film called “SEVER” will be premiering it for the general audience.

“Sever” is a locally produced feature film, written by Nate Skoog and Joe Kolb and directed by Skoog. With the tagline — “A silent despair will tear a family apart and change one man’s world forever,” this movie purports to walk an intellectual fine-line between Hammer Horror and Gothic Cinema. The trailer definitely leaves you with a feel for the gothic.

Synopsis:
Deep mystery and terror lie within the O’Conner household. Carolyn, a child rendered mute by a mysterious illness; Jane, the caring mother blinded by love; Richard, the cheating father whose obsessions drive him; Peter, the suspicious stepson who is not about to let his mother be hurt again — and Dominic, the eccentric uncle who’s experience leads him one step closer to the secrets buried within this family.

“Sever” is the story of a family haunted by strange visions in the night and a bizarre cult that seeks to covet the dark secret hidden within their bloodline. One man’s pursuit to save his family will leave him questioning his own reality.

You can find out more at the Official “SEVER” Website, which includes lots of production stills and photos, as well as the film’s trailer.

You too can be a part of this movie’s big premiere night on Wednesday, May 9th 2007, 7:30PM CST at The Heights Theater located on 3951 Central Avenue NE Minneapolis, Minnesota 55421.

Come out and support true independent filmmaking.
